The For Greater Music benefit concert showcases diverse performances by students of the Florida State University College of Music and provides a networking opportunity for students and faculty alike to immerse themselves in the arts by coming together to raise money for instruments for Title I schools in Leon County, Florida.

It is important to support Title I schools because all children deserve to have access to quality educational and music programs. Some children may not be able to afford a new instrument or parts of an instrument, so this benefit concert can help alleviate those costs for these children.

Leon County, Florida is where Florida State University resides, which is home to the Alpha Omega Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma. We seek to enrich the music programs of our local communities. Leon County also houses one of the poorest zip codes in Florida, with a majority of its population living in poverty.

Tau Beta Sigma is a sorority rooted in music and service. One of the greatest values in our sorority is to encourage younger musicians to pursue music or to continue performing. If we can support music programs at large through this benefit concert, then we have succeeded in encouraging our future musicians.
